Premium Domain Name (PDN)

What are Premium Domain Names (“PDNs”)?

Premium domain names (“PDNs”) are names that command a higher value than normal domain names. They include:

  1. Numeric domain names (“NDNs”) of up to 3 digits i.e. a name which is made up of pure digits:
    i)  Single digits. For example, 0, 1, 2 ……9.  These names come with a one-time premium fee of $20,000;
    ii) All 2 and 3 digits. For example, 00, ……999. These names come with a one-time premium fee of $500;
  2. Single character ASCII domain names i.e. a name which is made up of a single letter in the alphabet. For example, A, B, C, ……X, Y, Z.  These names come with one-time premium fee of S$20,000. 

Prevailing Singapore Goods  and Services Tax (GST) will be applied to the above premium fees.

In addition to the above premium fee, annual domain name registration fee and any other admin fee will still be payable to your registrar. As registration and admin fees vary, it is advisable to check with your preferred registrar for their rates.

What extensions of PDNs may I apply for?

PDNs can be applied for the extensions of .sg, com.sg, org.sg, net.sg, and edu.sg.

How do I apply for PDNs?

You may apply for any available PDNs with our accredited registrars.  These names are available on a first-come-first-served basis.  PDNs applied for will need to meet the eligibility criteria for the category of interest. Your registrar will inform you if supporting documents for extensions such as com.sg, org.sg, net.sg or edu.sg are required, or if you are unsuccessful for the application.

You should check SGNIC’s Rules of Registration to determine if you are eligible for the category of interest before submitting the application.

Is the premium fee collected at names' renewal?

Premium fee is for first-time registration only.  Renewal of the PDN will be at registrar’s prevailing renewal fee.
